Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County portal

In September 2022, our five-person design team was given a seemingly impossible task: to design and construct a health and social services portal for the 500 000 residents of the new Wellbeing Services County, which was set to launch on the first of January 2023.

The scale of the project was astonishing. With approximately 170 health and social services in 10 municipalities, it meant creating approximately 1 700 pieces of content in three languages. These ranged from detailed information on how to get to a dentist in Siuntio, urgent care in Hanko, or rehabilitative daytime activities for the elderly in Espoo, to name just a few.

On top of the content design work, we were also responsible for the site’s UX/UI, which had it’s own intriguing challenges. The brand work was about to start couple of weeks before the launch and the development of the site had to be done with Drupal, which set quite a lot of boundaries for the design of the layouts and interactions.

In just three intensive months, we were able to complete everything needed, from design and content creation to implementing the site using Drupal. We had superb team dynamics, a trusting client and diligent experts working with us, resulting in a best possible outcome in the time given.
