I helped A.S.Helsingö to visualise their new ecological paint products. The fairly short design gig produced a solid concept, from which the folks from Helsingö created a premium paint product to their catalogue.
My colleagues Hugo D’Alte and Jérôme Bodin had made the initial website concept for Helsingö, so I had lots of building blocks from the get go. However, I didn’t have any paint colours, names, texts nor any other specific details about the paints so I had the permission to get creative with the designs.
The final product ended up using quite a lot from our design and can be seen at Helsingö's website.

The paints front page was designed to emphasise the unique selling points and premium brand with quality images and video. Although we didn’t have any assets of the paints back then, I suggested that a visually appealing video could be used to promote the new paints. Later on, Helsingö crew made it happen and it can be seen on the paints front page.
I tried out many approaches for the representation of the actual products. I benchmarked lots of premium paint shops and ended up using a wall texture with slight rough details.
It was already decided that the paints would come in aluminium cans instead of traditional plastic buckets. I photoshopped a can to match Helsingö’s brand to visualise the idea and made an hover interaction for the paint items in order to instantly have another view of the paint.
Customers could also order A4 samples to get a better idea of the colour, so I added the ability to add the samples to the cart from the list items.
The product page consists of different representations of the paint and details about the product. I also designed a social feed that shows the paint on people's walls and a cross sell section for the painting supplies.
A calculator was also needed to be able to order the right amount of paint and thus saving money and waste.
As an extra feature, I designed a full screen palette to make it possible to see the paint colours in full screen. The idea is to be able to try the colour next to a wall with a phone or tablet. Obviously the colours will be slightly different on different screens, so the tone wouldn't be as perfect as with the A4 samples.
